HONOLULU – Ghouls and goblins of all ages will invade the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC) on Sat., Oct. 31, as its popular free monthly entertainment series “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” takes on a Halloween twist complete with trick-or-treating, a costume contest and haunted house fun for the entire family.
“We wanted to offer families a safe and exciting alternative to celebrate Halloween this year. And the Hawaii Convention Center is excited to welcome guests from near and far for an evening of great local fun,” said Teri Orton, HCC general manager. “Like many people, Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year. I invite everyone to get dressed up in the spirit and relax while enjoying great fun, food and entertainment.”
HCC’s in-house culinary team will be serving up popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos and bentos. Additional vendors at the Sunset Mele Market Place will offer snacks, beverages, and beautiful arts and crafts for sale.
The schedule of activities for the evening is as follows:
5 p.m. Event begins, featuring the Sunset Mele Market Place, gourmet popcorn, hotdogs and more.
5:15 p.m. Entertainment by Aiden James.
6:15 p.m. Entertainment by Pineapple Jam.
7 p.m. Screening of the feature film, “Maleficent.”
9 p.m. Event pau (finished.)
Admission to “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” is free. Parking at the Hawaii Convention Center for the event is $5 per vehicle. Outside food, beverages and coolers will not be allowed, however, guests are welcome to bring low beach chairs, mats and blankets.
The HCC-hosted “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” entertainment series will continue monthly through the end of the year with the next event scheduled for Fri., Nov. 20. Each month features a new entertainment lineup.
